Exciting news for Harlow residents! Access to blood testing services is about to become more convenient with a strategic move from Princess Alexandra Hospital to the heart of the town centre. This relocation to The Harvey Centre is a result of a promising partnership between Harlow Council and The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust.
This initiative is set to revolutionise patient access, offering a modernised facility that reduces the pressure on the hospital by providing a more accessible location for blood tests. The new centre, expected to open its doors in spring 2026, will be situated on the ground floor of The Harvey Centre, ensuring ease of access for all.
While the new facility will enhance convenience, blood testing services will still be available at St Margaret’s Hospital in Epping and Herts and Essex Hospital in Bishop’s Stortford, ensuring comprehensive coverage for the community.
The relocation is part of the Building Harlow’s Future strategy, a visionary plan aimed at improving services, supporting the town’s growth, and fostering a healthier, more connected community. By freeing up space at Princess Alexandra Hospital, the move will allow the hospital to focus on more complex clinical services, enhancing overall healthcare provision in the area.
The hospital trust currently accommodates around 300 patients daily for blood tests, and this new facility is poised to offer a modern, accessible environment for both patients and visitors. This development not only signifies a step forward in healthcare accessibility but also reflects a commitment to the well-being and convenience of Harlow’s residents.
